The development was continued in 1964 and the finished product for 1967 model was dubbed as the “Gentleman’s Muscle Car”. The Belvedere GTX was available in either two-door hardtop or convertible. It was packed with the Super Commando 440 cu in V-8 and TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission. It was a success although paying for the premium GTX package resulted in a major downfall on its sales. An R023 option was released quietly and mostly professional racers are its target.

It features a functional hood scoop that gives cold air intake to the hand-built HEMI engine that is paired with a dual-point distributor, transistorized ignition, high performance ignition wires and dual Carter 4-barrel carburetors.
It was capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 in just 4.8 seconds and only 55 units of this car was produced, quite rare isn’t it?
